Hole Size & Pitch

Thickness (Gauge)
Thickness of the metal sheets do not change during the perforation. Normally thickness is expressed in gauge, please see the Gauge Table. However, to avoid possible misunderstanding, we normally express them in mm (millimeters) or in (inches).

Width and Length
The most common width and length of perforated sheets are as following
1000MM X 2000MM 1220MM X 2440MM 1250MM X 2500MM
Qinghe Metal Mesh also do other sheet sizes or coils according to customers’ requirements; coil weight can be max 4tons.
Margins
Margins are the blank (un-perforated) area along the edges of the sheet. Normally the margin on the length is ranging from 5mm to 20mm, and margin along the width can be 0 minimum or at customers’ requests.
Open Area
The ratio between total areas of the holes and the total area of the sheet dimension. It is normally express in percentage. Open Area is mostly range from 10% to 80%.
Starts and Ends
Sheet metal margins along the width may have different Starts and Ends looking, they are mostly decided by how Qinghe design the mold according to the hole diameter and pitch. Then customers can not choose it unless it is specifically requested.

Slitting
Slitting to finished width is done in-line from a coil.

Cleaning
The perforating process requires the use of lubricants, and a degreasing step can be applied to cleaning oil free from the material surfaces.

Packing
Wooden Pallets Capacity: 1 Ton – 2.5Tons (2200 Lbs. To 5500 Lbs.)of perforated metal per pallet. Each pallet will be packed by plastic bag.
Steel Pallets Capacity: 1 Ton – 3.5Tons (2200 Lbs. To 7700 Lbs.)of perforated metal per pallet. Each pallet will be packed by plastic bag.
Levelling
We can bring the perforated material thickness arranging from 0.8mm to 12mm back to the original flatness with the roller press.
Shearing
Our workers can shear the margins when the tolerance is greater than our in-line process.
